Professional COMM 2/20: John Lennon on reality

"I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it's in your mind. Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now?" - LENNON

First of all, let me say that I think that John Lennon is (and will be recognized by future generations as) every bit as important as any philosopher or world leader or writer of our time. This quote is a good illustration of how far-reaching his thought is. I love this quote because it makes us stop to think about what we choose to lend credence to... in this life certainty is a hard thing to come by- but, lucky for us it is just as hard to prove the non-existence of something as it is to prove the existence. Why not believe? There are many ancient schools of thought that say that EVERYTHING exists as long as we can imagine it, it exists in a certain dimension... our task is to figure out how to bring the dimension we normally inhabit together with the manifold possibilities.
